Preview to UK/ID Festival 2017

Next week, UK/ID Festival 2017 presents music performances, film screenings and art exhibition that feature artists from both Indonesia and UK over the span of six days.

Organised by British Council Indonesia, UK/ID Festival is back for their second year that encompasses performances, film screenings and art exhibition. From October 17th to October 22nd, 2017, the festival will showcase works from artists and organisations from Indonesia and UK over at The Establishment in Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD).

As a part of “UK/Indonesia 2016-18” three-year programme, expect exciting collaborations between artists from the two countries. This year, UK/ID Festival revolves around the theme of Come Together to represent the importance of communication as well as embracing diversity. From a music performance between London-based electronic musician Chloe Martini and Indonesian singer Neonomora to art exhibition featuring works from UK/ID residency programme from Uncle Twis with Cryptic and Dani Carragher with Kunokini to name a few.

In addition, there also a handful of activities that visitors can participate in such as the Indonesian premiere of Morrissey’s biopic called ‘England is Mine’, panel discussion about electronic music in Indonesia with Double Deer and a special music performance by British singer-songwriter Dan Croll. All in all, this six-day-festivity of arts and music cultures at UK/ID Festival 2017 will keep your week fully occupied in the best way possible.
