JFW 2017: Dewi Fashion Knights

Time flies and just like that the hectic Jakarta Fashion Week 2017 finally came to an end. As per annual ritual, the most important fashion event on the calendar is concluded with Dewi Fashion Knights. The latter brings together a selected group of Indonesian designers for a final show that brings together a blend of industry players, celebrities and influencers.

This year, the “knighted” designers – Didi Budiarjo, Sapto Djojokartiko, Vinora, fbudi, Toton and Major Minor Maha – each presented a capsule collection under the theme of the Cycle of Time and Culture. For instance, Didi Budiarjo sent out a show that examined the traditional Javanese rituals while Felicia Budi of fbudi put out a collection that’s inspired by her childhood, which indirectly explored the ceremonial aspects in the life of a woman.
