A Preview to Landscape Anomaly by Eko Nugroho

Contemporary Indonesian artist Eko Nugroho is closing 2015 with a bang. The artist transforms Salihara Gallery into his playground, where murals, sculptures to mix-media installations with social and politically-infused messages grace the space over the course of one month.

Landscape Anomaly: A Solo Exhibition by Eko Nugroho marks Nugroho’s first solo exhibition in Indonesia after four years of hiatus in presenting his works in his own country of birth.

Alongside the exhibition, Nugroho collaborates with local label MajorMinor in producing an exclusive ready-to-wear collection that was showcased on Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 and during the opening of his solo exhibiton.

Nugroho, who stirred a buzz earlier in 2013 thanks to his collaboration with the world-famous Louis Vuitton, projected mythological creatures and eccentric patterns of his creation onto MajorMinor’s quirky clothing pieces.

Landscape Anomaly runs from November 22^nd to December 21^st at Salihara Gallery. The gallery opens on Monday to Saturday from 11am-8pm, and on Sunday from 11am-3pm. Visit www.salihara.org for further information.
