Ombé Kofie’s second branch in Mall Kelapa Gading brings additional food options along with fine coffee and affable atmosphere that they are known for.

Located within the Mall Kelapa Gading (MKG) 1, the second branch of Ombé Kofie easily stood out against the drab shop-fronts around it. First started out in a lively strip in Pluit, the second home may be bigger and more masculine in terms of interior, but it still retains that friendly vibe that Ombé Kofie is known for.

It may be a natural move to look for a seat first but here, it’s easy to gravitate straight towards the coffee counter once you step into the premise. Order a cup of joe that’s made with their house blend “Dark Side”, which consisted of Brazil, Aceh Gayo and Flores. If both the indoor and outdoor seating area is taken, just park yourself by the tall communal table that’s facing directly at the coffee counter.

While coffee is still very much the star, the second branch also focuses on a variety of food options to accompany your coffee. Choices such as spaghetti aglio olio with sambal matah, BBQ Pulled Pork Burger and even pisang goreng are popular amongst the patrons.

Serving to a slightly different crowd compared to its joint in Pluit, which is usually filled with white-collar workers and residents nearby. Here, Ombé Kofie’s decision to add food menu is not without a reason. It’s common to see moms having their arisan session on weekdays and families having brunch with their children on a Sunday, livening up the place with chats and laughter.

With tables filling up quickly at Ombé Kofie MKG, it’s a clear sign that the establishment is making its mark in Kelapa Gading with coffee and easy-going ambiance. And if you’re in luck, the owner who goes by the name of “Om Jason” among the regulars will be around to have a chat as you enjoy your caffeine fix.
