If there’s one place that gets people excited recently we could fairly suggest that it is Serpong, South Tangerang, which has garnered a special spot among Jakartan foodies by now. And Tanamera adds even more reasons to visit Serpong by opening a new branch in this soporific-turned-lively satellite city.
A year and a half after the opening of its flagship roastery in Thamrin, Tanamera aims high and massive for its second branch. Upon first glance, it’s easy to notice the extensive first-floor area that’s divided into two section: café and roastery (where two striking red Giesen roasters reside). Meanwhile, the second floor is a spacious area with rows of tables to accommodate Tanamera’s regular barista class.
By noon, college students inundate the place – sometimes fooling around with friends or focusing on their campus projects with books sprawling across the café’s communal table. Indeed, the café is a magnet for students since it is sandwiched between two campuses.
Tanamera is a fine alternative for a city that’s still lacking in specialty coffee options. As compared to its Thamrin branch, one doesn’t need to battle the horrendous traffic in order to reach the Serpong branch.
