At PIK, there is no shortage of adventurous dining options one can indulge in. It’s no easy feat to find the best place to enjoy the night after a hard day’s work, but sitting on the seventh floor of Swissotel Jakarta PIK Avenue, the discreetly hidden Letterpress Bar brings guests on a pleasant night-time journey.
As you walk in, dark tones and Shanghai-inspired décor adorn the space with floor-to-ceiling windows that lets you soak in Jakarta’s glowing sunset. Though the inviting space is small, the speakeasy-like bar can tame even the busiest of minds with live music and a menu that will spark conversation.
While the classic bar offerings are present, it’s their house cocktails that calls for a visit back. Each cocktail comes with a story influenced by Chinese origins, emphasized through the use of the country’s popular ingredients such as tea and spices. Full of punch, their Jasmine Magnet is a tea-inspired rum cocktail served in a teacup. For a sweeter break, try their tropical Yum Cha, a fusion of housemade raspberry shrub and four fruit tea syrup. Elsewhere, there’s a Gin & Tea station where one can pair their favourite tea with a selection of gin that will give the timeless Gin and Tonic a run of its money.
If the menu still sounds intimidating, the bartenders will gladly guide you through the experience. The Cultivar Hybrid is a refreshing mocktail of red grapes, lychee juice, rose syrup and soda water. For a “healthy” break, try The Spicy Sundown made of fresh carrot juice, ginger syrup and ginger beer. There’s also a complementary self-serve Swiss chocolate bar station to add alongside the customary bar bites.
While Jakarta holds a monopoly in nightlife bustle, PIK is ready to give more than food to the mix. Saving the hassle of venturing to the heart of Jakarta, Letterpress Bar is ready to bring all the fun a night needs up in the North.
