Beloved Indonesian pastry brand, Genji Pie started their first pop-up store with a bang. Expect toothsome pastries complete with fetching Instagram-worthy illustrations from five Indonesian artists.

Pop-up store seems to be on a rage these days. The latest brand that decided to jump into this popular bandwagon is Indonesian well-loved pastry brand, Genji Pie. If you’re only expecting a cart stacked with an assortment of Genji products, then be glad that you’ll sorely disappointed.

The brand went all out and constructed a mini French-inspired bakery shop at Pondok Indah Mall 3 with pristine white walls covered with illustrious illustrations from five noted Indonesian artists – Muhammad Taufiq (Emte), Lala Bohang, Rukmunal Hakim, Ykha Amelz and Monica Hapsari. This is undoubtedly a jovial move targeted at young adults who enjoy high tea surrounded with “Instagram-worthy” environment.

The menu selection is concise but varied with the use Genji products as the starting point – A Bag of Love is made of tiny heart-shaped Genji pies sandwiching either Chocolate or Caramel fillings and the straightforward Magic Cinnamon Pie where Genji Pie sits among blocks of fruits.

Unfortunately, seating is limited and to avoid disappointment, it’ll be wise to avoid peak hours like lunchtime.

Genji Shoppe is located at Pondok Indah Mall 3 – North Gallery Lobby and will be held from April 12th – May 12th, 2014.
