Between the Lines is a solo exhibition by Triyadi Guntur Wiratmo that tackles his ideology and understanding of social issues, public affairs, and or culture with the present of history.

Within the next two weekend, Galeri Nasional Indonesia is exhibiting Between the Lines in hall D. A solo exhibition by Triyadi Guntur Wiratmo, a Bandung based artist, researcher and lecturer in Bandung Institute of Technology. The widely recognized experienced illustrator brought the past to the future in this exhibit with portraits of well-known historical figures as R.A. Kartini, Karl Marx, and Chairil Anwar, drawn in a particular manner to create engagement with its audience.

Entering the exhibition, the viewers are invited to look beyond what the eyes can see. Beneath the physical contrast of color and medium – reveals a sense of understanding that is open to interpretation. Using mostly graphite, acrylic and thread each piece is an approach to discover an alternative view of the issue he is presenting.

The Combination of the past and future create depth and meaning, a different kind of understanding. Welcoming everyone to have their own conclusion to his work.

Between the Lines runs everyday from 10am-6pm until April 23rd, 2017 at Galeri Nasional Indonesia. Closed on National Holiday.
