UNION Central Park

22nd February 2020
UNION’s latest establishment arrives in Central Park Mall, opening doors to their archetypical glass house with an exclusive lineup embracing Indonesian cuisine with a Western twist.

After UNION Café in Senayan City Mall, the celebrated establishment branches its way to the West for its sixth outlet. Their recent arrival in Tribeca Park, Central Park Mall does not strike one as a surprise, with the group’s up-and-coming offsprings like CORK&SCREW Country Club and The Dutch, UNION’s latest domain was bound to emerge any moment.

Enclosed in a glass house, UNION’s Central Park home holds true to their distinct aesthetics that’s perfect for both friendly and family unions: mirrored wall panels, wine cellars and an interior which reminds one of a classic European brasserie. Whether you’re sitting indoors or outdoors, don’t forget to take a look at their famous baked goods encased in a wooden counter upon entrance. The welcoming space extends to the dining area where the convivial times await.

As it’s known for, UNION embraces fusion menu while keeping Indonesian flavours intact, with something new to offer at every branch. That said, exclusive to the  West home are dishes familiar to the tastebuds further elevated with flair. Take the Scallop Bakwan Jagung with Sambal Kacang, ‘Yamien’ Angel Hair served with Crispy Prawns and their best-loved Nasi Lemak with fork-tender Pork Rendang, Ikan Bilis, Fried Egg and Crispy Pork Rinds. If the menu sounds like a stackful, there’s also a light yet hearty treat for those who want to keep their calories count in check with the Asinan Bogor Salad, the restaurant’s fresh take on the local staple.

But before you bask in their mains, make sure to save room for the line-up of desserts that are available exclusively at the newest outlet as well, such as their unique Klepon Croissant and the gooey S’mores Croissant that are best served hot. Once finished, score your caffeine fix with their Coconut Cold Brew coffee, Kintamani (from Bali’s specialty green beans) or Mandailing (from Aceh specialty green beans). Or, for a sweet, thirst-quenching beverage, try the Strawberry Daiquiri and Tomato & Co (fresh tomato and orange juice with cinnamon syrup, lemon and basil).

With another outlet made, UNION is pioneering Jakarta’s cafe culture in bringing in their regular patrons and casual guests for home town favourites with a modern twist all wrapped in their iconic glass house.
