Hidden as it is, Tanamera’s third offspring is lodged in the sleepy corner of Pacific Place Mall. But it’s not like Tanamera needs to blare a trumpet to bolster up its presence in the midst of big café chains and luxury label shops. They are backed up with their drawcard, that is, coffee.
Apart from coffee, location (the new Tanamera is tucked beside the lobby of ONE office building that is adjacent to the mall) plays a big part as well in inviting a flurry of regulars, be it for a casual me-time moment behind the pillar or a set of meetings to clinch an important deal with clients. It wouldn’t take a while to realise that the majority of the crowd – the laptop-propping white-collar visitors – comes from the office building upstairs.
On weekdays it can be packed from shoulder-to-shoulder, especially now that Tanamera serves heavier fares (think Ox Tail Soup or Chili con Carne to go with your coffee). But unlike its flagship in Thamrin, seats are plenty here, from the lone table in the corner to the communal one at the centre of the café. And when it gets too stifling inside, there’s the outdoor seating area that provides a relief during the peak hours.
With three cafés under its flag and two more underway (they are launching soon in Pantai Indah Kapuk and Soekarno-Hatta airport), these are the folks whom you can trust when it comes to coffee that is well executed. It’s this kind of security that keeps people coming back to Tanamera time and again.
