With the aim of highlighting Indonesian culture through fashion, designer Amanda I. Lestari conceived LEKAT, a label that pays a tribute to woven textile from the village of Baduy in Banten, Java. Focusing on ease of movement, almost all of LEKAT’s collection features loose silhouettes that could be translated into various occasions.
Started with just a by-appointment-only store in Kemang, LEKAT has since transplanted itself into a new and bigger home that boasts a mezzanine and living room-like lounge. Located in Kemang Selatan, the spacious flagship store encourages a casual shopping experience where one can shift through the racks of dresses and tops in leisure.
With the addition of its lounge, your company will be able to hang out while you emerge from the dressing room with various offerings from LEKAT. Even though women pieces are the main show of the store, the spotlight is also shared with a fraction of mens and kids collection, available on the mezzanine area.
It’s also worth mentioning that LEKAT’s achievement has reached global attention through its Fall/Winter 2017 collection that was showcased in London Fashion Week. Suffice to say that the flagship store is the first of its giant leap towards being the label to watch for.
