Ardent Coffee & Kitchen

With a refreshing minimalistic touch complete with a Japanese-inspired outdoor area, Ardent further their expansion by bringing their brand of specialty coffee over to West Jakarta.

Having established outlets at two prime locations in and around Jakarta, Plaza Senayan and Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3, Ardent turns heads with the opening of a new flagship over at West Jakarta. Located not too far from the heart of Puri Indah, Ardent Coffee & Kitchen is their first standalone outlet and the largest one yet.

Visually, Ardent is not dominated by wooden design elements like the other two outlets. This space opted for minimalistic touch dominated with whites and greys, and topped off with a Japanese-inspired outdoor area. The indoor and outdoor seating area sits side by side, separated by large glass panels reminiscent of a greenhouse, filling the indoor area with natural light.

In terms of menu, it’s a culmination of Ardent’s previous ventures. As expected, Ardent’s selection of specialty coffee takes the spotlight much like at the other branches. Aside from their coffee, Coffee & Kitchen also serves a selection of teas from Lewis & Carroll, as well as a range of signature mocktails that are definitely worth trying. Food wise however, Coffee & Kitchen brought some Indonesian favourites from their Soekarno-Hatta branch, but they also added a lengthy selection of fusion cuisine. Though they offer dishes like burgers and pastas, most of their selections are heavily Japanese-inspired.

Opening a standalone branch could be a fearful undertaking for a coffee shop, all the more risky at an area far from the other branches. But with the rise of appeal for specialty coffee shops in West Jakarta, Ardent surely picked the right time and place to open their new flagship branch.
