Archie

The thought of getting a bespoke suit can be intimidating. Fortunately, the ritual from boy to man is made easy and pleasant in Archie.

While getting dressed in a suit may seem to be an errand to some (ironing shirts, picking the right tie to match the shoes and does my pocket square looks crooked?), it definitely still has not lost its sartorial appeal. After all, it is the look that separates the men from the boys.

Archie, a menswear store in Gunawarman, is initiated by Michael Wong to assist men in Jakarta to look their best in formal wear. After all, even men can be pretty clueless when it comes to formal menswear. As such, those who wish to be decked out in customised suit for their big day, such as wedding, will do well to visit Archie.

Once the right fabric (fabric is sourced from overseas countries like Italy and Japan) is chosen and measurements are taken, they are subsequently sent to local tailors to be perfected. The bespoke service also extends to shoes, where Carmina, an established shoemaker in Spain since 1866, will carry out the customisation.

But don’t be fooled into thinking that reserved is the only look one gains when dressed in formal wear. Depending on the fabric choice and cuts, it can transmit an air of casual insouciance charm, minus the sloppiness of course. Other than offering made-to-measure service, the store also offers ready to wear labels, such as Drake (UK) and Xacus (Italy).

Be ready to wait up to four months to get your hands on the finished piece though. After all, good things come to those who wait.
