Three Folks (Puri)

24th October 2019
One of Puri Pesanggrahan best kept secrets, Three Folks’ new home offers more than its coffee and creamery mainstays with a revamped menu in a nature-infused setting.

Three Folks’ new home in Puri Pesanggrahan is probably the closest thing we’ll get to the magical land of Narnia—or at least the concept of entering a wardrobe closet and finding the cosiest spot to settle in. First-timers will experience the same feeling as they step into the ordinary-looking shophouse and discover something that will more than satiate the sights and taste buds.

The place boasts a floor-to-ceiling glass house design, furnished with ample seating spaces in indoor and outdoor settings. The two-story structure embraces a communal feel that welcomes every café hopper in need of recuperating with their significant ones or quality time with self.

For a change of scenery, the “green space” as owners Naradipa Poniman, Dave Setiaputra and Kuncoro Wibowo called it, will do just the trick. Stepping in, one will transport themselves into a tropical realm with plants garlands and greeneries surrounding the courtyard. Emanating a secret garden vibe, the city’s hustle bustle will be long way forgotten, compelling one to ditch their errands and duties.

While patrons may have known the establishment for their specialty coffee and artisanal ice cream, don’t be quick to ignore the offerings of the overhauled menu. A lot of the food options are quintessentially Indonesian, with global fusion here and there. To relish, do try the Three Folks’ Coconut Rice, a blue coconut rice in assortments of tempeh, curry chicken, rice noodles, sliced eggs and crackers. Or the Pasta with Woku Sauce, an Italian-Indonesian fusion feast that serves Vermicelli pasta cooked in Manado’s Woku sauce. Cleanse your palette with their array mix of fruit bowls or ice creams from earl grey cranberries to salted honey granola, locally-sourced from all parts of the country.

Three Folks is essentially Puri Pesanggrahan’s best kept secret. Though the café will continue to flourish in the future, its homey aesthetic and heartfelt refreshments creates a much needed getaway.
