Meet The Rosemary

The Rosemary’s take on modern British cuisine comes with a surprising twist in its menu every week, accompanied with its modest space for a more intimate bonding time.

Gastropubs scene in Jakarta is growing, but Rosemary could take pride in being the first one to have a British theme in the cuisine it offers. Located in Standard Chartered building, which sits right next to big corporate names such as AIA and Sampoerna, it is no surprise to see well-dressed employees taking a break in this place from their day-to-day of work life.

Rosemary’s interior is a departure of the classical nuance evoked by an old style British gastropub by taking on a more modern approach. It’s simple yet ready to provide comfort in whatever occasions or circumstances you are in. This modern direction is also reflected in how they do not aim to become constant in the dish they provide.

Through the weekly changes in their menu, some of the dishes that remain present are probably the ones considered as British comfort food, such as their all day breakfast which comes in a generous serving, and their recommended beer-battered fish and chips which stays crispy. As modern Britain represents a melting pot of culture, Rosemary reflects on this through the inclusion of other dishes that incorporates elements outside of Britain; for instance, their selections of Italian-styled pasta and burgers. The latter is also worth trying, especially the Rosemary Brie Burger, which incorporates their homemade tomato jam to add a sweet touch to the savoury dish.

The drinks at The Rosemary goes easy on your wallet with the diversity in collection of beers that it has, ranging from Indonesia’s local brand Bintang to German Paulaner. With the constant surprises that it has on the menu list along with its compact and comfortable interior, bonding time with your friends at The Rosemary is less likely to be mundane.
