Jolly Junkyard

Going green has just gotten a lot more fun with Junkyard.

Located in Birah Raya Street, Junkyard is hard to spot if you aren’t attentive enough. Just don’t expect a pile of enormous garbage aiming towards the sky. Though its tagline is “(W)here it all ends”, “junks” are rebirth with a new lease on life at Junkyard.

Laidback and relaxed atmosphere are the utmost priority for Founder, Marianne A. Mahendra. Though all furniture in Junkyard is recycled, the establishment oozes an air of easy, rustic sophistication.

During the day, Junkyard itself is a chic shelter from the unforgiving heat of the city. The laidback atmosphere is kicked up a notch with light meals that pay an ode to street food. Yes, you will not find street food staple, like Indonesian Fried Rice in the menu. Instead, you’ll come across a mix of globally inspired fare such as Chicken Parmigiana and Swedish Meatballs. But, it is presented on retro metal plate with a modest appeal that reflects the straightforward charm of street food.

But once the night falls, Junkyard is transformed into a cool alternative hangout spot with exciting drink selections to match. Their signature drink, Coronarita Cocktail – Frozen Margarita in a big glass with Corona beer “pinned” up side down into it, is the perfect panacea for a warm summer night. Here for a wild night? Jello Shots or Junk Tank cocktail in the size of an aquarium is just an order away. Going green has just gotten a lot more fun.
