A Voyage to Jet Ski Cafe

Jetski Cafe offers a place of hermitage with seaside breeze to match on the north coast of Jakarta.

Everyone needs to take a break from everything. So, if the city with its menacing towers begins to suffocate you, then a short excursion to Jet Ski Café might do you good. Anchoring itself on the coast of Pantai Mutiara, Jet Ski Cafe is a restaurant that derives its name from a place it used to be: a Jet Ski dock (the dock retains its spot though, now located beside the restaurant).

The restaurant area is huge with capacious room to throw a wedding reception (a small family reception though). But why mingle inside when one can enjoy an outside seaside breeze? The outdoor area is almost like a beach pier with rustic wood planks and marine-themed ropes, and more than once one could spot a jellyfish swimming towards the dock. Furthermore, one can’t help but love the two-seater garden swings, ideal for lovebirds to lounge about as they watch the sun dips below the horizon.

One might presume Jet Ski Café leans towards seafood fare after all the traces of its nautical upbringing. Having said that, the menu is a rather convoluted affair where one would be hard-pressed to choose between oxtail soup and spaghetti aglio olio, or between fried rice and Wagyu steak. There’s just about everything to suit everyone’s palate.

Overall, Jet Ski Café is worthy of a trip from the central of Jakarta. The best time to go would be an hour or two before sunset, if one would like to capture the view, but early reservation must be made if don’t want to compete with family or group bookings.
