Just when you think there are no more options on the lively strip of Pantai Indah Kapuk, something catches you by surprise. The new Vietnamese haven, Nam Nam, is a legit reason to revisit the neighbourhood.

When the cooler weather of the rainy season has started sneaking up on you, a hearty bowl of noodles in a clear broth remains the staple choice for many. Still though, there are more reasons to visit Nam Nam Noodle Bar. Founded in Singapore by Chef Nam, it’s been a smashing success. Nam Nam now delights Jakartans by providing this particular rainy days comfort food in our city.

Pho enthusiasts will appreciate how smooth Nam Nam’s broth is. It’s intense, but not overwhelming. Furthermore, you’ll experience various distinct flavours once you sip the hot broth. Choose from the options of pho rice noodles, instant noodles, or bee hoon to accompany the broth that’s been boiled for over 24 hours – which, will induce an aftertaste of the chopped herbs’ subtle spiciness.

One can try other Vietnamese classics like the Quang Style egg noodle,  fresh southern rolls and even Banh Mi sandwiches. These crispy baguettes with sautéed meat and fresh veggie filling can add the needed spark to your day. Don’t forget to accompany any food orders with a Chocolate Caramel Crunch ice cream or Viet Coffee with condensed milk. A jubilant “Amen!” will be heard from the back of your head with the first sip of the coffee.

A short clip of Chef Nam’s experience in Vietnam, projected on a red brick wall in the restaurant, allows guests to visually experience his culinary roots. On top of all that, the fast service, generous portion, budget-friendly menu, and the fact that the food is cooked with no MSG makes eating in Nam Nam a sumptuous experience.

So hurry yourself to this noodle bar and succumb to the temptation of Vietnamese street food. Plus, pho noodle soup doesn’t get any more photogenic than in here.
